More Than We Can Handle?

It seems like I would need a 26 hour day to accomplish all that I want to accomplish for the Lord. There is always more that needs to be done than any of us can do. He is pleased when we want to do more than we can but He knows our limits. He knows the limits of our strength, abilities and time. We cannot always accomplish WHAT WE WANT but we can always accomplish WHAT HE WANTS. Sometimes we bite off more than we can chew and sometimes we disobey, give up and set our sights too low. Sometimes we expect too much of ourselves and sometimes we expect too little. He gives us to do exactly what we can do. That*s why we so desperately need Him to decide what we do with each and every moment in our 24 hour days. We need to set our sights on what He wants us to do. We need to switch what we want to what He wants. Then we will NEVER FAIL to accomplish what we want.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

James 4:14-15, 17: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Luke 19:13: And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

Occupy means to busy oneself. When I busy myself with the things that I want I spin my wheels and don*t get very far. When I busy myself with the things of God time flies and I am amazed at what gets accomplished.

Psalm 37:4: Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

I am also amazed that when I occupy myself with the things of God I am delighted, fulfilled, satisfied and at peace. We can even trust Him with the times when it seems like we can do nothing.

Mark 6:31a: And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while:

Psalm 46:10: Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Isaiah 40:31: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Psalms 31:15a: My times are in thy hand:

Dear God, please manage me and my time!
